武道主義・Budoism 日本人独自の思想であり江戸時代には、300以上あった藩校と私塾により若者たちに教育され我が国民族国家が持つ固有の文化思想として継承されてきた。

 「武道主義と民主主義」

　武道主義・Budoismは、日本人独自の思想であり江戸時代には、300以上あった藩校と私塾により若者たちに教育され我が国民族国家が持つ固有の文化思想として継承されてきた。

　会津藩には

「什の掟」があり

一、年長者の言ふことに背いてはなりませぬ

一、年長者にはお辞儀をしなければなりませぬ

一、卑怯な振舞をしてはなりませぬ

一、弱い者をいぢめてはなりませぬ

一、戸外で物を食べてはなりませぬ

一、戸外で婦人と言葉を交へてはなりませぬ

「ならぬことはならぬものです」

佐賀鍋島藩　葉隠武士道　四誓願には、

　　一、武士道において後れ(おくれ)取り申すまじき事。

一、主君の御用(ごよう)に立つべき事。

一、親に孝行仕る(つかまつる)べき事。

一、大慈悲(だいじひ)を起し人のためになるべき事。

水戸藩の弘道館、長州藩の明倫館など

　競争主義、利益至上主義でなく「誰かのために生き、誰かのために働き、誰かのために命を棄てる」という武道主義（武士道主義）思想が脈々と受け継がれてきた。

戦後、武道・武士道の賛美は、「民主主義」を否定し阻害する軍国主義を助長するかに思われ糾弾され武道禁止令までGHQにより発令された。人々は、民主主義に夢と希望を抱き厳しい入試競争からはじまり仕事経済競争に邁進してきたが勝利至上主義、能力主義の結果、格差と強者のみが享受しコントロールする世界に気付き失望していった。まさにウクライナ戦争や世界で起きている悲惨な事態は、強国強者の理不尽なコントロールでしかない。

　「誰かのために生き、誰かのために働き、誰かのために命を棄てる」と云う「武道主義」は、今や大衆には、ナンセンスとしか受け止められないかもしれないが武道学を学ぶものの中には、武道主義の継承の志をもち推進していく志士がいる事を固く信じる。

"Budoism and Democracy"

Budoism is a unique Japanese philosophy, and in the Edo period, it was taught to young people at over 300 domain schools and private schools, and has been passed down as a unique cultural philosophy of our nation.

The Aizu domain had the "Ten Commandments":

1. Do not disobey what your elders say.

2. Bow to your elders.

3. Do not behave cowardly.

4. Do not bully the weak.

5. Do not eat outside.

6. Do not talk to women outside.

"What should not be done should not be done."

The four vows of Hagakure Bushido, Saga Nabeshima domain, are:

1. Do not lag behind in Bushido.

2. Serve your lord.

3. Be filial to your parents.

4. To show great compassion and to benefit people.

The Kodokan in Mito and Meirinkan in Choshu have been passed down from generation to generation, not based on competitiveness or profit-first principles, but on the martial arts (bushido) principle of "living for someone, working for someone, and giving up your life for someone."

After the war, the praise of Budo and bushido was condemned as it was seen as promoting militarism that denied and hindered "democracy," and GHQ even issued a ban on Budo（martial arts）. People had dreams and hopes for democracy and pushed themselves hard in the competitive entrance exams and in the business world, but as a result of victory-first principles and meritocracy, they became disappointed when they realized the disparities and the world where only the strong enjoyed and controlled. The war in Ukraine and the tragic situations occurring around the world are nothing but the unreasonable control of powerful countries and powerful people.

The "Budo ideology" of "living for someone, working for someone, and giving up your life for someone" may be perceived as nonsense by the general public today, but I firmly believe that among those who study Budo, there are patriots who have the aspirations to carry on Budoism（Budo ideology） and promote it.
