It is women who are practicing Syugyou(修行Mental and Physical Discipline), but where have the men gone?

It is women who are practicing Syugyou(修行), but where have the men gone? They are so preoccupied with competing for relative superiority in entertainment sports and winning matches that they are neglecting their training. - Tatsuru Uchida
Monthly "Budo": It is women who are practicing Syugyou(修行), but where have the men gone? It is women who are leading traditional culture, and perhaps men have gone off to "competition."
They are so preoccupied with competing for relative superiority in matches and winning matches that they are neglecting their training. There is no "competition" in Syugyou; one simply devotes oneself to training in order to shed self-attachment. If men do not return to Syugyou, they will be forgotten from the world of culture.
